It’s been a busy few weeks for Dark Dates – I’ve particularly been working with bloggers and authors from the fantastic Book Connectors Facebook Group, which has been a lot of fun and lead to some really interesting posts!
First up, I did a post on Damp Pebbles, talking about how the crime and fantasy genres cross-pollinate, with specific mention of authors like John Connolly, Charlie Huston and Terry Pratchett. Still on the subject of crime, I talked about 3 of my favourite series on author Lucy V Hay’s blog.
Next up, I was pleased to contribute to this fascinating piece on Why Writers Write on author Rebecca Stonehill‘s blog, and I also really liked this piece on Literary Comfort Food at From First page to Last.
I did a guest piece on Why Reviews Matter at Bloomin Brilliant Books, and an Author Q&A for Rachel’s Random Reads that focused on back catalogue books – a really fun idea since I spend so much time focusing on the new stuff!
Reviews
It wasn’t all me doing the writing though! Writing around the Block gave Bridesmaid Blues 4*, saying
“Witty and well-written, this is an intellectual Bridget Jones-esque romance.
Hilariously witty and self-deprecating …The writing was fluid, the dialogue scathingly relatable, and the protagonist was a wonderful low-self-esteemed disaster zone with heart. Great light-hearted fun. Read it.”
Night Owl Reviews, meanwhile, was equally kind to Angel Falls – their 4* review said:
“If you are looking for a great Urban Fantasy series that will keep you interested, then the Cassandra Bick Chronicles is the series for you…. I am thoroughly entertained by Tracey Sinclair’s stories… I cannot wait to see what happens next”
So thanks, everyone!
